On the Road
We are leaving tomorrow to visit with John's side of the family as well as some friends along the way. The soap making adventure happens this weekend sometime. I hope it all goes well! I heard through the grapevine that if any pictures of Nan (my mom in law) accidentially end up on the website, I'll never be able to make soap at her house again! Well I won't be able to post until after the we get back.....so I'll wish everyone a Happy New Year now!!

Merry Christmas!!

I sure hope santa was good to everyone. He sure was here. This is one of my presents this year.....any guesses as to what exactly it might be?? Well for the cooks and bakers at heart...you might enjoy this one! This is "The Edge" baking pan. When you bake browines, etc. there will always be a piece with two sides! The ends are the best part! Just thought I would share this nifty little pan with you! I couldn't wait to try it out, so there is a pan of chocolate chip bar cookies in the oven as we speak!

Housing Prospects!

I wasn't getting too excited about looking for apartments or any housing yet, because I thought it was a little early.....BUT tonight I thought I would give craigslist a quick look and I found two really good housing prospects. I spoke with one lady.....her rental would only be available from January to April.....she is right along the Skalkaho Highway in Hamilton and it is a farm..she has goat, horses, geese and cats. She would be open to having a dog....but she would need to meet her and see how she interacts with the other farm animals. All utilites would be paid and a washer/dryer is included! All for only $400/mth. The reason it is only until April is because she runs like a hostel during the summer months. The other rental.....I REALLY want. It is in the town of Stevenville.....it is a furnished cabin on 10 acres!!! All utilites are paid for $450/mth.....dogs are allowed. This cabin is off grid(no electric). They have hydropower (water generated electricity). There is no stove in the cabin....but the ad says you can use the stove in the main house(whatever that means exactly??) Victor is almost directly in the middle between these two towns. Hamilton is 11 miles SOUTH of Victor and Stevensville is 10 miles NORTH of Victor. Hamilton (pictured upper left) has a population of abou 4,600. Stevensville(top pic below) has a population of about 2,000 and Victor(bottom pic below) has a population of about 900.

Welcome to my new blog!!!
Hi all and welcome to my new blog....not too awfully much to report....Yet! BUT....the other day, John had a phone interview with a cabinet maker (they have build cabinets for Hank Williams, Jr and Charles Schwab). He has been corresponding back and forth with email and faxes for the past day or so and he got an email today from the gentleman and said he had checked his references and everything checked out on that end....so he wants to meet with him asap (between Jan 9-15). John set a tenative appointment for Jan 11. He also told John that there were other applicants but he was holding the postion until he met with John in person! So I guess that is good news and kinda makes things definate! The job is not in Missoula but in a town about 40 miles south called Victor. It is a smaller town which is alright by us...actually we prefer it that way! I don't actually think that we will settle in Victor, but in a town about 10 miles north of Victor called Hamilton....we were actually through there on our vaction this past summer.....the last dirt freeway in Montana ends in Hamilton (the Skalkaho Highway).
We'll keep you updated as things unfold.
